The International Offshore Wind Power and Wind Turbine Technology Seminar organized by ITRI EEL and MSL took place on 3.11.2008 at the International Convention Center of National Taiwan University Hospital. ITRI WEO organized the participation of Dr. Peter Ahmels, Founding-President of the German Wind Energy Association BWE.

ITRI Western Europe Office helped to organize an exploration tour for ITRI’s Executive Vice President Dr. C.K.Lee and General Director of ITRI’s Office of Strategy and R&D Planning in June 2008. Main focus of their Sweden trip were the chemistry and biology faculties of Lund University, which is regarded as one of the best research bases for biochemistry and industrial biotechnology in Europe. The company Bioprocess Control and Innovationsbro Syd AB were among other stops of the tour.

Ms. Mei-Huey Chen from ITRI WEO recently gave presentions to two group of managers in Berlin, elaborating ITRI's role in the establishement of high-tech industries and in leading the drive for sustainable growth in Taiwan.

ITRI is considering to establish an Energy Policy Research Center to provide a well-sourced bases for political recommendations in the field of renewable energies in Taiwan.
