In recent years ITRI has been working to drive Taiwan's evolution into a technology innovator, and as part of this effort the local design firm Duck Image was brought in to ITRI to work with its engineers to find creative applications and designs for their technology developments. The partnership of ITRI and Duck Image scored another success recently with the announcement that the Fluid Driven Lighting System was awarded an iF Design Award from the International Forum Design in Germany. The Fluid Driven Lighting System integrates LED technology into a fire hose and emergency sprinkler, drawing power from the water flow to light an LED which can be of life-saving help to rescue workers, firefighters, and victims in the event of emergency.
